What kind of church is Village Bible Church?
Most importantly, we want you to know that Village Bible Church is a family church that cares about you. Almost every church will say it's friendly. When we say it, we really mean it and want you to experience it. When you come, you're noticed. When you're gone, you're missed. How you're doing matters. It's a place where you matter to God and to us. And our highest calling is to help each grow as followers of Jesus.
"Denomination" is something people ask about. VBC is “non-denominational” which means we're just not part of a particular denomination of churches. You will find that we are unashamedly Biblical and evangelical. The word "Bible" in Village Bible Church highlights the priority we recognize of the Bible, God’s Word.
What time are your services?
- 9:15 am Sunday School for all ages
- 10:30 am Worship Celebration
Where are you located?
We are at 600 Kuhn Rd., in Carol Stream, between Lies Road and North Avenue, just north of Munson Drive.
How long are your services?
About an hour and twenty minutes.
What are your services like?
Our services are a mixture of worship in song and worship in the Word. We express our hearts to God through song. We also look to the preaching of His Word to guide our lives. Our services are an intentional blend of traditional and contemporary, some Sundays led by our praise band and others led by a worship team and piano. Often the sermon is focused on a passage of Scripture in a study of a portion of the Bible. At times we focus on topical issues. But we always seek to make sure that what is taught is firmly grounded in the Word of God.
What should I wear?
Some people come to church dressed up and others come casual. What we wear is not as important as our heart attitude. Church isn’t a beauty contest. God values us worshipping from our hearts. We’re glad that you’re here.
Will I be singled out or have to stand up?
No. The only thing we ask is that you raise your hand so we can give you a visitor’s brochure. We have a visitor’s card that we ask people to fill out and put in the offering plate. That allows us to send you a letter, thanking you for your visit. But if you prefer not to, that’s alright.
What about my children?
We have a staffed nursery available during our services for infants up to 2 years old. Children 3 years old - 5th grade are part of the worship service and are dismissed for Children’s Church just before the sermon. Parents are welcome to observe as their children get used to new surroundings.
We also offer
-AWANA for youth 4 years 5th grade on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm
-Seekers (Junior High youth ministry) on Monday evenings 6:30 pm
-Quest (Senior High School youth group) on Sunday nights 6:30 pm
More information can be found on the Children and Students ministry pages.
What about my preschoolers?
A staffed nursery is available during the 9:15 and 10:30 services. Parents are always welcome to attend and observe any of our children’s ministries.
