We Exist To Celebrate, To Cultivate, and To Communicate for the Glory of God!

Celebrate
As beings created by God, our Creator deserves our worship. We can see how important this is in several places in the Holy Bible. It is the theme of the first four of the Ten Commandments found in the book of Exodus, chapter 20. In the New Testament we find that Jesus Christ said worship is something God desires (John, chapter 4). The Apostle Paul spoke of how worship should be the focus of all aspects of our life when he said, “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians, chapter 10, verse 31).

At Village Bible Church, we recognize how central worship is for the individual believer and for the church as a whole.  In our services we seek to “worship” (bow our lives to Him), Exalt (lift up who He is for others to see), Magnify (ascribe greatness to Him), Praise (boast in who He is and what He has done), and Glorify (honor) the Almighty God.

So, when we gather to sing, pray, learn from the Bible, give, or serve others, our response to an amazing God is that we celebrate Him.

Cultivate
The biggest step in our spiritual journey is when we turn from our sins (repent) and trust in Jesus Christ as our savior. From that moment on, all our sins are forgiven, eternal life, new life, and a new relationship with God are ours. His plan doesn’t end with those tremendous blessings. His intent is for us to become like Christ (Romans, chapter 8, verses 28-29). That’s a process of spiritual growth that continues the rest of our lives.

As a church, we exist to cultivate by growing as “disciples” who know and who follow God’s commands (Matthew, chapter 28 verses 18-20). At Village Bible Church we accomplish this by having Sunday School for young and old, as well as messages from the Bible in our worship services. In addition to these, we also have small group Bible studies and other ministries, each of which provide opportunities to learn from God’s Holy Word, the Bible. Genuine spiritual growth is more than just taking in information, it is our life being transformed by the truths that we learn, so that our inner being and outer actions reflect the person of Jesus.

Communicate
Sin has separated us all from God. To be restored to Him we need to turn away from our sin and trust in Jesus as our Savior. Jesus said that the number of people who have done that is very small, and the number of those who have not is very large (Matthew, chapter 7, verses 13-14).

The "Gospel" or Good News is the message of how God dealt with our hopeless predicament of being separated from him by sin. Jesus Christ (God the Son) came to earth as a man, He died on a cross to pay for our sins, He rose from the dead and told his disciples to Go and preach the good news of forgiveness for those that repent and trust in Him to save them.

Taking that message to the world is the mission God has given the church as a whole since the 1st century. Village Bible Church exists to continue in that purpose. Equipping and encouraging individuals to share the gospel with those who haven't heard is the most powerful means of doing that. Providing ministries that reach out to those who don’t know Christ is another. What a privilege it is to be ambassadors for Christ, bringing people into God’s eternal family wherever we go.
